Reflecting Brisbane's newfound status of a true destination for travellers, the boutique Calile Hotel revels in sophistication and sets a new standard in design and service.
The Calile Hotel is the latest addition to the growing family of the TFE Hotels Collection group. Pitched as Australia’s first Urban resort, the hotel presents an oasis situated in the heart of Brisbane City. Drawing on the enviable Queensland climate and tropical surrounds, the haven undeniably delivers a resort experience in an urban setting, with local architects Richards and Spence designing the $100 million building to embrace this established tropical vernacular.
The exterior features the distinctive architect's touchstones of white brick, concrete facades and geometric shapes that have come to define James Street in recent years.
By taking inspiration from hot-weather cities such as a 1950’s Palm Springs and Rio De Janeiro, the hotel incorporates breeze blocks into its hallways, open-air nooks and fans to keep it naturally ventilated- truly embracing Queensland’s lush subtropical climate.
The contemporary style draws on natural elements- seamlessly blending in with the design and offering every conceivable luxury in each of the rooms (including the nine suites). Producing both a chic and modern feel, the interior encompasses timber panelling, cork flooring and brass fixtures. Pastels prove to be the hero of each room, incorpoarating natural pinks, blues and greens, best reflected within the travertine marble surfaces and walls.

The rooms are also accompanied by terrace-style and Juliet balconies overlooking the elevated centrally located 30-metre pool and the surrounding deck area, lined by palm trees and spacious cabanas.
The Calile also offers a Fitness Centre, Amphitheatre, and Day Spa, along with its own all-day lobby bar - offering brunch, dinner, drinks and cocktails; with dishes ranging from granola, artisan sourdough with Jam and some egg dishes. But the place to be is beside the pool where you can order glorious Greek food from the renowned in-house Hellenika restaurant.

When you finally fall into your luxurious bed, you’ll soon discover that those thick, pastel walls – and the solidity of the door to your balcony – mean that you can sleep in miraculous silence, despite the fact that you are so centrally located.
